About Alex
Alex is a physiotherapist based in Squamish, BC, with a strong background in both clinical practice and research. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph, where she served as captain of the varsity soccer team. Following that, she earned a PhD and a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Western University, focusing her research on concussions in youth athletes.
Working with Alex
Alex is dedicated to treating the root causes of injury and takes a holistic approach to patient care. To address musculoskeletal issues and optimize recovery, she incorporates a blend of manual therapy, exercise prescription, and specialized techniques, such as trigger point dry needling. Her philosophy centers on empowering patients through education and encouraging their active involvement in rehabilitation, fostering long-term health and functional independence. Additionally, she is an instructor in the Kinesiology department at Langara College and serves as Chair of the Research Ethics Board.
Outside the clinic
Outside of her professional life, Alex is a passionate outdoor enthusiast. She competes in ultra-marathons, embraces mountain biking challenges, and enjoys climbing whenever she has the opportunity. Whether treating a patient or tackling her next athletic challenge, Alex is motivated by a strong commitment to health, performance, and well-being.
